McKinney makes his mark to seal prize in England

Tandragee’s Andrew McKinney produced an impressive performance as part of a Northern Ireland team in England recently for the National Sporting Trials Championships.

McKinney - with Chris Millar as his passenger - picked up the EF Lawrence Trophy as leading Northern Ireland competitor at the BTRDA-backed event in Cumbria.

He produced a final position of ninth in the Gold Star category.


Loughgall’s Peter Bennett recovered from a first-stage spin to secure third in the latest McGrady Insurance ANICC Junior 1000 Rally Challenge Ireland meeting.

The Kirkistown event featured racing for drivers aged 14-17 years old.
