Ronnie Massey was the leading rider from Velo Club Iveagh during a first road race appearance by the Scarva outfit.

Seventh overall, he was joined over the line by club colleagues Josh Daly and Mark Shilliday across the 21.5-mile circuit covering the Scarva, Tandragee, Markethill and Poyntzpass areas.

“This was a great night’s racing, in good spirit on a demanding course,” said Iveagh’s Simon Keery. “We thank all the riders for support, plus the marshals, time-keeper, first-aid team and photographer.

“We had 24 riders overall split across four groups.

“Racing at this level is always frantic and some even felt it was harder than open racing, especially with the humid conditions.”
