Portadown men’s firsts played host to Premier League hockey last weekend for the first time - and celebrated the occasion with a 2-1 success.
Adam Stevenson’s double left the town seniors on top against Civil Service at Edenvilla Park.
A sharp start led to positive pressure from Portadown but both sets of players entered the interval on level terms.
However, Portadown managed to maintain the high-tempo approach and broke the deadlock thanks to patient passing before Stevenson’s finishing touch.
Civil Service hit back to level the league meeting.
Portadown responded with another period on top that resulted in a penalty flick converted by Stevenson to wrap up a memorable success.
