Colin Turkington’s first competitive appearance in the Subaru Levorg was considered “a great success” by the Portadown driver.

The Team BMR ace opened up his pursuit of a third British Touring Car Championship title at Brands Hatch.

Turkington was forced to retire from the first race before positions of 20th and 12th.

“Brands Hatch was a great success in my eyes”, said Turkington. “I was able to qualify just outside the top 10, make progress through the field in all three races, constantly improve times and score a handful of points.

“The car has come out of the box incredibly strong but not by chance and the work done by Team BMR has been exceptional.”
