More success for Causeway Judo Club

The latter part of 2013 has been a resounding success for the fighters of Causeway Judo Club, who are based in both Coleraine and Ballymoney.

To end the year they competed and took titles in both the Leinster open Dublin, and the North West Open international in Londonderry. To tally things up the club won a staggering array of medals, six gold and two bronze at the North West, two gold , a silver and three bronze at the Leinster Open.

Chris Johnston, Mark Curry, Reuben Tosh and Steven Curry, all from Coleraine and pupils of Millburn Primary School, put in impressive performances at these competitions.

Other players of particular note and who all took gold/titles in their respective weights and categories, where the Ballymoney competitors - Caleb Bartlett Under 46kg North West champion, Keris Bartlett U40kg North West champion, Adam Feeney U26kg North West and Leinster champion, Thomas Greenwood U32kg Leinster open champion, Logan McIntyre U40kg North West champion, Cameron Ashcroft U66kg North West champion, other players of particular note at these competitions were Jake Wallace and Rebecca Jones.

Rory Wallace of Ballymoney won gold at the North West Open.

Causeway Judo would like to thank all the dedication and hard preparation these fighters put in before their tournaments and especially the loyalty shown to Causeway by their parents.

Club training times are: Friday Millburn Primary School, Coleraine 7-8pm juniors, 8-9.30pm seniors; Tuesday 7-9.30pm Leaney Primary School, Ballymoney and Saturday 3-5pm Castle Street Community Centre, Ballymoney.
