Northend ready for new season

Northend United were delighted with the turnout on 1st night of preseason training for all their teams.

Austin Speight, Coerver Coaching’s Director of Football in Ireland, was in charge of the opening night training sessions for the ambitious Wakehurst Academy Club at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

This was part of the continuous working relationship built up between Northend United and Coerver Coaching and dating back three years when Northend were the first Club in Ballymena to enlist the services of the progressive Coaching agency.

Fielding no less than fourteen youth teams for the incoming football season, ranging in age from U8 to U17, all the Northend United teams are looking forward to getting back to pre-season training this week which started on Monday 3rd August (last night) at the Ballymena Showgrounds Complex and continues each Monday and Wednesday nights at the Showgrounds as follows:

2007s – 2003s from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, 2002s – 1999s from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

With a number of additions already to each of the teams, following a series of successful Open Nights during June, all at Wakehurst Academy Club are looking forward to a super season ahead that sees teams from U11 to U17 competing in the highly competitive Lisburn Invitational League, while the U8s to U10s will compete in small sided games in either Coleraine or Ballymena, depending on age group.

GLENTORAN ACADEMY YOUTH TOURNAMENT

The Club’s 2006s and 2007s travelled to Belfast on Saturday to play in the Invitational Youth tournament organised by Glentoran Academy. Playing against a number of new teams, including one from Dublin, the young Blues again excelled winning a number of their matches.

Are you an ambitious individual, male or female, who is interested in taking the first step onto the football coaching ladder? If so, then Northend United is the Club for you.

This is an exciting period for our Club and we are on the lookout for new talented coaches to join us on our journey to coaching excellence. Due to a vast increase in player numbers, we plan to field a number of new teams for the 2015/16 season.

As a new coach you will embark on our Club’s ‘Coach Development Pathway’, which consists of guided practical experience under one of our senior coaches, in Club training and formal coaching qualifications. The Club is fully committed to Coach Education and will provide opportunities to attain formal coaching qualifications through the Irish Football Association and Coerver Coaching.
