Nostalgia: Sinead wins All-Ireland title
A Lurgan solo singer won an All-Ireland title in 1997. Sinead White, formerly McKenna, represented St Peter’s Club and won the solo singing section of senior Scor.
Sinead’s rendition of Roisin Dubh brought gasps of admiration from large sections of the audience.
Sinead became the third member of the McKenna family to achieve All-Ireland honours. Her father Francie was the proud holder of a senior Scor medal as a member of the successful ballad group from Clan na Gael and her sister Fiona created Armagh Camogie history the year before when she was the first ever ref from the Orchard County to take charge of an All-Ireland final in Croke Park.
