Orchard County men miss out as Oriel prove strong in second half

Oriel produced a strong second-half performance to claim control overall by 68-37.

The two sides entered the half-time interval on level terms at 24 apiece. However, Oriel held the upper hand across the second stage of play, with front-end scoring proving decisive.

The rink scores were as follows: T.Mulholland 8 S.Trainor 5, M.Sproule 11 S.Conroy 9, A.Roberts 5 P.Duff 12, M.Trainor 6 G.McCabe 9, A.Leckey 2 P.Hanlon 23, D.McDonald 5 K.Conroy 10.

Armagh ladies and defending champions North West meet in Richhill tomorrow (Saturday) aiming to secure a spot in the Inter-Zone Championships showdown.

The Orchard County players lost out to North West at the semi-final stage last season and will be hoping for a vocal home crowd in St Matthew’s, with play from 2 o’clock:
