Portadown enjoyed success away to Dundonald by 84-54 during Saturday’s NIBA Division One programme.

The six-point haul provided Portadown with a second win of the league season.

Three Portadown rinks proved in top form at Dundonald - with Portadown collecting wins across 36 of the 54 ends.

Counts of three arrived on seven occasions, four three times and one return of five.

Dundonald failed to build any momentum against a Portadown side with three successive ends on four occasions.

Front-end success provided the foundation, with the fourth rink working hard overall against a strong Dundonald quartet.

Rink one - K.Lamond, K.Trainor, D.Wright, D.Jordan 12-28; rink two - D.Millsopp, J.Corrigan, P.Hunniford, R.McMullan 24-10; rink three - T.Murdock, R.Hobson, S.Trainor, A.Corrigan 25-8; rink four - A.Kernaghan, M.Whitla, B.Martin, M.Sproule 23-8.

Bowling League of Ireland-based Blackrock have been forced to withdraw from the Irish Senior Cup due to an inability to field a side for tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) tie.

As a result, Portadown will progress into the next round thanks to a bye.

Portadown B players experienced a blank programme last weekend as the adverse weather conditions resulted in a postponement.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the B side visit Comber across the IBA Junior Cup.
