Penalty heartbreak for Ballymoney as United put up gutsy display in Cup

THERE was heartbreak for Ballymoney United as they almost pulled off a cup shock against neighbours Ballymena United in the Northern Ireland League Cup last week before going out on penalties.

Ballymena United required spotkicks to squeeze past the challenge of the Championship Two side after a 2-2 stalemate at the end of extra time.

Ballymoney grabbed the lead in the 13th minute when Stuart Addis brought down Eoin Bradley in the penalty area and Bradley picked himself up to tuck home the resulting spot kick.
