Plans are announced for festival

This year’s Aghaderg and Ballyvarley Summer Festival and Sports Day will take place this weekend.

This year’s summer festivities kick off on Friday June 28 and continue throughout the weekend with Sports Day on Sunday June 30.

It all gets underway with juvenile hurling, camogie and football at the club’s pitch, starting at 7pm, along with a barbecue and refreshments.

Saturday begins with an U8/U10 hurling blitz at 11:00am. There will be teas and coffees and other refreshments available. The day finishes off with a rounders competition at 7:30pm - everyone welcome. There will also be a barbecue and other refreshments available.

Sunday’s sports day begins at 1.30pm with a marathon cycle from Loughbrickland to the club. Other events on the day include a long puck competition, a penalty shoot-out, target shooting, Irish dancing, gunge your coach, dog show, quad bike trailer rides and much more.
