Dominant win for City of Derry Fourths

CITY of Derry Fourths upped their game to beat last year's League winners Ballymoney Fifths with a 17-15 victory.

In a game where both sides competed fiercely for the ball at the breakdown. The Poole/Corr training machine paid off with great ball skills on display.

Ballymoney scored first but with a fine run, winger Paul Kearney equalled the score. Danny O'Connor, playing out of position at 10, gave a solid performance. Graham Taylor, inside centre, had a great game getting over for a well deserved score.

Derry upped a gear in the second half with the forwards driving forward and ball being delivered cleanly to the backs by scrum-half Mike Poole Jnr.

The final match winning score came from a period of sustained pressure in Ballymoney's 22 with full-back James O'Kane crossing the line.
